The funniest person in the world…my mom!

I sat in my mom’s kitchen after a long day of work….Eating (of course) and observing what was going on around me. My sister Tina on her laptop, my sister marina sitting next to me, kids running around like it’s a zoo, my tata on the bbq AND of course my mom in her uniform (apron) cooking in the kitchen.

Another crazy story! Last Sunday my sister marina swore that someone was trying to break into my parents house through my nephews room. My parents didn’t believe her and blamed it on my brother AND him trying to pull a practical joke on them. Well a few nights later my Mom hears tapping on the window and someone trying to push the window! Yup. My sister was telling the truth and the size 13 foot print in the dirt was proof. Oh! keep in mind their neighbor was robbed a few days ago. His laptop was stolen and my mom was saying that the other neighbor said it was his wife because he must watch porno on the computer.

TO continue…they put a alarm in yesterday and my mom was saying how in “all my life..I never experienced this, babe I didn’t sleep all night” then she stops in mid sentence pull out a Thousand Island Dressing AND has a smile on her face! Telling us “remember that I used to buy this in Portland”.
I wish you were there to see it! it’s funny how a thousand island dressing…can be so sentimental to her.

Mommas at The Blank Club

Posted by Picasa

Mammas Night out...Mother like daughter!
I received a phone call on Saturday February 6, 2010 from my sister….letting me know that my mom was going to the Blank Club! My mother Ljubica better known as Violet! Loves Johnny Cash & a cover band was playing that night.
If you know my mom… this was quite different. She never stays up past nine AND she had a great time!
I love my mom! She has a story for just about everything. They don’t make them like her anymore and I am glad she’s my mine.

I had made prior commitments but had to stop by to take a quick photo!

Mask of Japan, Hannya: Tattoo

Hannya

The hannya mask is the vengeful and jealous woman turned demon. Pointed horns, metallic eyes and teeth, and the expression all exhibit the full wrath, anger and resentment of her nature. The origins of hannya masks may have come from early snake masks but most likely the image was taken from painted hand scrolls of stories and legends of the Muromachi period. In fact one of the oldest hannya masks is dated 1558. Of course the most prominent feature is the horns. Even to this day a hand gesture of two index fingers sticking up from a man's forehead is an indication that his wife is mad at him or jealous. There are many variations of hannya masks. The coloring of the face also signifies the degree of passion in the demon's anger. For example, a more reddish color indicates strong resentment and anger and is used in such plays as Dodoji and Kurozuka, whereas a paler color would be more appropriate for Aoi-no-ue. Dodoji is the story of unrequited love between a woman and a priest of Dodoji (temple). She turns into a demonic serpent who wraps her body around the temple bell consuming it and the priest in the process.

Movie Mania, Dance Revolution.

Well when all you Christmas goers were celebrating, fighting families, crying kids, ungrateful family members. I was watching movies, Yes I did not spend Christmas with my huge Croatian Catholic hot blooded family. I was done, 2009 took a lot out of me. Please, just one day of peace…what Christmas was intended to be “Peace and Happiness”!!! So, my friend and I took Jesus’s request for Peace and Happiness and did just that.

Christmas: Movie Mania
Rented:
• Inglorious Bastards (***1/2, Stars) suspenseful, good acting “Not for Koreans and conservative white men”, you know who I am talking about.
• Coco Chanel (**2,Stars) tv version, which I preferred better than the big screen
• I hate Valentine’s Day (0,Stars) This movie fucking sucked, look at a wall for a hour instead of watching this movie)
• Away we go (*1, Star) Slow and it sucked. That dude should stick, to just the office. Yup I said it, he is a shitty actor. AND Nancy, his fiancés mom sucks!
• Mike Tyson, Documentary (*1, Star) Shoot I should give it ****4 Stars, because that dude is one of boxing greatest.

Cinema:
• Up in the Air (**2,Stars) I didn’t like it as much as I thought, rent it. Shoot or don’t watch it. Fucking George Clooney, has been picking some stupid roles. Go to your “I”talian villa a read a good script. I feel as though he thinks he can make shit, smell like roses. Well George, it’s a expression!
• Second: Sherlock Holmes (***3,Stars) Robert Downey, he looks like he’s done a lot of coke in his day AND still can sell a movie ticket. I wish he would give, Mickey Rourke a few tips.
• Third: It’s complicated (**1/2, Stars) One word, “Cute”!

It was wonderful, in-between showing’s we ate Johnny rockets.
Grilled cheese, Onion Rings, Chili Cheeses Fries, Club Sandwich, Strawberry Milk Shake. Beats, Gross “Canned Cranberries”! yuck.

Then to End the Night, 80’s dance music AND a Stoli-Soda please with lime. Oh, how I missed my good friend!
Good Dance, Good Entertainment AND best of all….With a Great Friend.

Happy Holidays, Mr. Shelly (aka Sheryls Dad)!

Halloween

OWL!

I made my costume about month and a half ago. I sewed the feathers, material and lace….by hand & hot glue
I have never made anything like this before…pretty proud of myself.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have added pockets...And More. Anything with pockets is super solid!

“ Where the Wild Things Are”
Nancy’s costume was amazing! She too made it by hand... it looked great.

Unfortunately both costumes were so fragile… we couldn’t show off our break dancing moves.

Happy Halloween, 2009! I applaud all the costume makers, bakers, sole shakers AND Project Runway!
