Movie Mania, Dance Revolution.

Well when all you Christmas goers were celebrating, fighting families, crying kids, ungrateful family members. I was watching movies, Yes I did not spend Christmas with my huge Croatian Catholic hot blooded family. I was done, 2009 took a lot out of me. Please, just one day of peace…what Christmas was intended to be “Peace and Happiness”!!! So, my friend and I took Jesus’s request for Peace and Happiness and did just that.

Christmas: Movie Mania
Rented:
• Inglorious Bastards (***1/2, Stars) suspenseful, good acting “Not for Koreans and conservative white men”, you know who I am talking about.
• Coco Chanel (**2,Stars) tv version, which I preferred better than the big screen
• I hate Valentine’s Day (0,Stars) This movie fucking sucked, look at a wall for a hour instead of watching this movie)
• Away we go (*1, Star) Slow and it sucked. That dude should stick, to just the office. Yup I said it, he is a shitty actor. AND Nancy, his fiancés mom sucks!
• Mike Tyson, Documentary (*1, Star) Shoot I should give it ****4 Stars, because that dude is one of boxing greatest.

Cinema:
• Up in the Air (**2,Stars) I didn’t like it as much as I thought, rent it. Shoot or don’t watch it. Fucking George Clooney, has been picking some stupid roles. Go to your “I”talian villa a read a good script. I feel as though he thinks he can make shit, smell like roses. Well George, it’s a expression!
• Second: Sherlock Holmes (***3,Stars) Robert Downey, he looks like he’s done a lot of coke in his day AND still can sell a movie ticket. I wish he would give, Mickey Rourke a few tips.
• Third: It’s complicated (**1/2, Stars) One word, “Cute”!

It was wonderful, in-between showing’s we ate Johnny rockets.
Grilled cheese, Onion Rings, Chili Cheeses Fries, Club Sandwich, Strawberry Milk Shake. Beats, Gross “Canned Cranberries”! yuck.

Then to End the Night, 80’s dance music AND a Stoli-Soda please with lime. Oh, how I missed my good friend!
Good Dance, Good Entertainment AND best of all….With a Great Friend.

Happy Holidays, Mr. Shelly (aka Sheryls Dad)!

Halloween

OWL!

I made my costume about month and a half ago. I sewed the feathers, material and lace….by hand & hot glue
I have never made anything like this before…pretty proud of myself.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have added pockets...And More. Anything with pockets is super solid!

“ Where the Wild Things Are”
Nancy’s costume was amazing! She too made it by hand... it looked great.

Unfortunately both costumes were so fragile… we couldn’t show off our break dancing moves.

Happy Halloween, 2009! I applaud all the costume makers, bakers, sole shakers AND Project Runway!

This AInt Your Grandmas Way of Mopping

How I love my new “steam mop”!
I don’t know about you but I hate mopping my floors. My place is small and I feel like the only way of cleaning my floors…ARE on my hands and Knees. Yup, the way my old school mom showed me how to do it! I tried using the swifter and swifter mop AND I still felt like I had to put a little old school muscle into it. Then I saw this infomercial and there it was “The steam mop”. Then the next week I saw my sister in-law who just is that type who buys only the best or what works (in a good way) Well she has great taste and I admire that about her. So… I finally bought it AND had a wonderful time mopping my floor!

SHEWOLF

SHEWOLF in the Closet::::

This Sunday I lay here sick. I assume it’s from the last three days.

Thursday, Katie and I went to the pink concert. It was kind of lame..don’t’ get me wrong I do like those popular songs. BUT Pink Is really just that old raver who you bought XTC from.

Friday, we drove down to Santa Barbara! Only in Santa Barbara do you have a pizza delivery guy driving a TT-Audi. Then to top it off we call for a cab and a limo picks us up.
I love Santa Barbara, maybe when I decide to leave one day… I can live there.

Saturday, was Solvang….ice cream and French fries. Yummy!
We didn’t stay to long in Solvang because, we felt like we were going to die.

In a nut shell my last three days…Now next weekend is going to pretty much the same. Busy Busy!

The School of Cuzco

I finally bought the painting that I wanted. It is influenced, by “The School of Cuzco”….In 1532 the Spanish conquistador, Francisco Pizarro, conquered the Peruvian empire of the Inka. Artist of post-conquest Cuzco, directed by the king of Spain to accept the Christian faith, combined European styles of painting and iconography with ancient Peruvian traditions which began to forge the Andean Colonial Painting of today….

...bake contest against myself

Saturday…i had a bake contest against myself! Last weekend I woke up with the idea, that I would start baking. Well, I thought it was a good idea and this is how it all began.
I went to the grocery store and spent about a 150 big ones. Not on groceries per-say but, on bake goods, came home and started, eating. This continues throughout the weekend, and through the week. Anyhow, I started to make home cookie dough (from scratch). Then there was a knock at my door “my handyman”. His name is Husain Fuckeir (no joke). Keep in mind I live down town, no air conditioning, small place, and a gas stove, no fan above the stove and dressed to attend my nieces b-day party (who the cookies were for). Well, I finished the cookie dough and began placing them in the oven…while talking and listening to my H.M., discussing why he has had two failed marriages, and now on iran-singles.com. I was distracted and while placing the cookies on this weird sheet it leaked through the bottom and started to burn….my whole kitchen, was up in smoke. While my smoke detector was ringing like a jail break…I ran in the kitchen, turned off my oven ran back over to the smoke detector knocked it off the ceiling with a wooden spoon…ran back to the oven, tried taking the burnt cookie piece of shit pan out…burnt my hand (3 places). Sweating like a dog…with a Iranian handy man looking at me like I was crazy. I ended not making cookies, after that batch and ate the raw cookie dough for the next two days. Yummy!

Sunday…Blue Berry Cheese Cake, I made it by scratch! It was delicious! No Oven Required…thank god!

My trip to Guam

Just flew in yesterday and boy are my arms tired (lol). I enjoyed my vacation…hot, with amazing beaches. My friend Aki was kind enough to be my tour guide, and give me a little san jose drama…just in case, I was missing home. I met people, who I’ve heard about in those, back home stories…some that I have spoken with but never met. I have heard so much about guam for the last ten years. So, I decided to check it out, myself! Slow pace, with amazing food (pickled papaya my fav.) and just like the crazy stories, I have heard all this time. What is there to do on a small island but cause some trouble and Surf...
like sheryl said....another expensive lesson for this year! I've had quite a few:") “same face just a different place" Glad to be home!

fleeing down and now up

I’ve been feeling really down in the dumps the last couple of months, but now I great. It’s crazy how you feel one way today, and another way tomorrow. If your normal, people who are not normal like I... take a couple of weeks:-) So, it made me think…”Why or What made me feel better”!
I know this sounds crazy...but, I think Nordstrom had a something to do with it. I ran in to the store, to stretch my Tori Burch Flat’s. Well, that’s what I thought I was going to do. Then behind this wizard of oz, drape..there were the pre-pre season shoe sale. Yes, it’s wonderful 30-60% off…I bought four pairs and don’t have to worry about winter boots. It's still going on and not just shoes, check it out! The hunter boots are my list..because, it rains so much in Cali.

not ready...even for a dog

i have to tell this story because sometimes i wonder about myself? last week i was so set on getting a dog and how wonderful it was going to be. Keep in mind my mother had kids, not pets..growing up i had sisters & brothers, who were like pit bulls... but in my head it was going to be the best thing ever! So, i rescued one..he was luvy! chocolate, 4month old pit Frankie. So that Sat morning, i had my two great friends come over...and we were going to take him out for breakfast. A new addition to the family. And i did just that, took him to mamma & tatas house..and introduced their new grandson that they have always wanted from me. BUT it doesn't end there, not quite yet. I had him all day, walked frankie, bought him everything a little dog needed$$$, and better yet gave him his own room. I came home after a long day, and couldn't take it anymore... i called my dear friend crying, that i can't do it. so, i gave him and everything of his to a luvly family who has unconditional luv and time for him. Lesson Learned... I am not ready, even for a dog Mom!

If the shoe fits buy it!

i thought it would be a good idea..to organize my shoes. Identify with them again, with the new season and all. so, that is what i did 82..pairs not including the misc., & what is hidden in the closet!

NY

...i took this photo on a subway in NY. these kids sat across and reminded me of my childhood. no brand names, just kids..survivors!
